Ahh, the magic of online advertising. Isn’t it funny how you can be browsing the web, minding your own business, and all of a sudden see an ad that defines what you now must have for your life to be complete? That was pretty much my experience on seeing an ad for Boardgame Chic on the Boardgamegeek ad sidebar. Clicking through, I was taken to what must be one of the sleekest, best designed websites I have ever seen.
Geek Chic makes gamer tables, and by gamer tables I mean the most incredibly amazing, stylish, and functional tables imaginable. Features for their tables include pull-out drawers, pull-out shelves, pull-out drink holders, various gaming surfaces, game storage space underneath, a game vault for storing games in progress under the table surface, and much, much more. The quality of the construction and wood seems excellent and their website is up front about any and all details on the design, construction or features that you may be interested in.
This level of quality must come at a price, however, and it does. The price range runs from around $1,500 for the Hoplite all the way up to the incredible Sultan which can cost up to $15,000. All the furniture is built specifically to order and there is a dazzling number of possible configurations, particularly for the more expensive tables. Note that some of the tables are coffee-table sized while others are sized more like dining tables or pool tables.
Geek Chic is actually located in Everett WA and has free shipping to all WA residents, though we do have to pay sales tax. Being a WA resident myself that does give me a ray of hope that someday I might be able to afford something on this level to support my own hobby. In the meantime, it’s purely in the realm of dreams along with the Collector’s Edition of the War of the Ring.
Ummmm…. no
That would be the wife 😦
Hello! I do design and marketing for Geek Chic. I was combing through the internet to see what people were saying about us… and wow! I’m months late in finding this, but really: thank you for such a flattering and enthusiastic blog post. We appreciate it!
